What is Magrathea?

We are a nationally-recognized, full-service automobile maintenance, restoration, repair, and rebuilding facility. The people have driven this 20-year-old business with their passion for motorcars, for ultimate machines. Proprietor Phil Compton named Magrathea after a planet he had read about in Douglas Adams' book "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Phil admired the planet for its reputation of building great things for others and solving infinite mysteries. And so Magrathea became not only the name of a business but also it's appropriate mantra. Inside it's walls, they build great things and have solved infinite automotive mysteries.

The people make it all happen.
They heard a saying once that benefits them: when love and skill come together, expect a masterpiece. They (Phil
and Vanessa) build car dreams; this crew specializes in any unique, customized, from-scratch and existing, sports or utility vehicle you can imagine. Magrathea, Inc. avidly promotes proper care of all automobiles and can tell you all you ever want to know.

Magrathea, Inc. in addition to restoring classic cars is a full service Rolls Royce and Bentley repair shop. Phil spent time as a dealership technician and building race cars before deciding to open his own place in May of 1983.   He has had a passion for English automobiles since he was a small boy.  He avidly promotes their well-being and wants to preserve their reputation as the “finest cars ever built.”
